The Team

Station Manager
Connie Lupton
Studies: Ba History and Politics
I joined Burn FM last year and it was the highlight of my first year in Birmingham. Last year, as Deputy Head of News, I assisted in running the weekly News Team show and interviewing Guild Officer candidates. I hosted two of my own radio shows as well: Around the World and Eclectica. This year as Station Manager I am responsible for the smooth running of the station. I look forward to working with the rest of our brilliant committee to make improvements to the studio and collaborate with other societies to bring new content to Burn FM and expand our listenership. I will also continue hosting my show Eclectica.

I joined Burn FM as a fresher last year and can't wait to take on the role of Deputy Station Manager this year, aiding Connie with decisions, coordinating training and arranging cool opportunities for Burn members. I'm in my first year here at Birmingham and looking forward to covering all the major sporting stories. Swimming, tennis and football are the main sports I'm interested in; however I often find myself watching any sport! Being a football fan of both Liverpool and my local team Shrewsbury Town always promises to give me an emotional rollercoaster, from the excitement of chasing titles to the misery of relegation.

I teach new podcasters how to use equipment and then listen to and post their podcasts on Spotify and Apple Music when they send them to me. Alongside that, I also manage the Burn FM podcast Instagram account. I have my own podcast - a (slightly disorganised) talk show called Tell Me Everything, which won the Burn FM Best Podcast award in 2025! Other than podcasting, I play the cornet and trumpet, and I'm the manager of the university brass band.
